Terms of Service
These Terms are the agreement between you and Vayl. Please read them. By using the app you accept them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your download of the app.
1Who we are
Vayl is operated by Bryan Jorden ("Vayl", "we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
2Eligibility
You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to use Vayl. By using the app you confirm that you are.
3Your account
You sign in with Apple and are responsible for keeping your device and account secure. You agree to give accurate information and to use Vayl only for yourself.
4Using Vayl with a partner
Vayl includes features you share with a partner you pair with. You agree to use these features only with a consenting adult partner, and to respect their privacy. You are responsible for the choices you make together. The app helps you have conversations; it does not make decisions for you.
5Not therapy or professional advice
Please read this
Vayl is not therapy and is not a medical, psychological, or professional relationship service. It gives you maps, vocabulary, and prompts for your own reflection. It does not diagnose, assess, or draw conclusions about you, and it is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in distress or need support, please reach out to a qualified professional or a support line. You rely on the app at your own discretion.
6Your content
The reflections you create in Vayl belong to you. You grant us the limited permission we need to store and display that content back to you, and, where you have paired, to power shared features as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your content and we do not use it to advertise to you.
7Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Vayl: no using it to harass, coerce, or harm another person; no unlawful use; no attempt to break, probe, or interfere with the app's security or other users' data.
8Purchases
Vayl offers a one-time purchase that unlocks premium content. Purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Refunds are managed by Apple. Restoring a previous purchase is available in the app.
9The app is provided "as is"
We work hard to make Vayl reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise the app will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
10Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vayl and Bryan Jorden will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for decisions you make in your relationship. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11Ending your use
You can stop using Vayl and delete your account at any time from Settings, then Delete Account. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are seriously or repeatedly broken.
12Changes
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes we will update this page and the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
14Apple's role
These Terms are between you and Vayl only, not with Apple, and Vayl (not Apple) is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied; if the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the app's purchase price to you, to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, legal, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.
